The replica of Tutankhamun’s Burial Chamber was installed in Luxor in 2014. BBC Travel Show’s Rajan Datar followed the installation and interviewed several of the people involved in this monumental project: from Factum Foundation’s Adam Lowe to Aiman Ahmed Ibrahim, Director of the Valley of the Kings, and architect Tarek Waly. The replica was unveiled on April 30th 2014.

Wow! How Did They Do That? Using Technology to save cultural heritage
In this series Roger Law travels to Madrid to discover the secrets behind the extraordinary creations of Adam Lowe and his company Factum Arte, who reproduced great works of art such as Veronese’s The Marriage at Cana. An exact replica of the work taken by Napoleon to the Louvre is now displayed in the original’s setting in the Palladian refectory on San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice. The next challenge is even more ambitious: a life-size reproduction of Tutankhamun’s Burial Chamber.
