The Barberini Harp

In early 2016, harpist Margaret Köll approached Factum Arte to inquire about the possibility to create a fully functional facsimile of the Barberini Harp, from the collection of the Museo Nazionale degli Strumenti Musicali in Rome, Italy.

The harp was recorded in high resolution using close-range photogrammetry and a cross-polarised filter to capture its intricate carvings. This technique proved effective in accurately documenting the gilded surface, providing precise results when physically rematerialised.
