The Lucida 3D Scanner recording the tryptich at the Stedelijk Museum in Breda
Employing the Lucida 3D Scanner in combination with panoramic colour photography, the recording served several purposes. A facsimile of the triptych is planned to be installed in the Basilica of St John in Oosterhout, the painting’s original location, following a crowdfunding initiative.
The recording was carried out by Factum Foundation’s Teresa Casado and Santiago del Bosque, as part of a collaboration with researcher Liselore Tissen. Factum Foundation has previously worked with Dr Tissen on the digitisation of two works by Theo van Doesburg at the Lakenhal Museum, among other projects. Her research focuses on facilitating access to high-resolution 2.5D recording technologies for Dutch museums, in support of the conservation, study, and dissemination of significant collections. Further collaborations with Factum Foundation are planned.
