A selection of works from the Museo Lázaro Galdiano
Factum Foundation is delighted to announce permission from the Ministry of Culture in Spain to carry out the digitisation of a selection of works from the Museo Lázaro Galdiano, after winning a public tender. The project is part of the Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia and has been supported by EU funds managed by the Ministry of Culture.
Nine paintings from the collection were recorded in high-resolution using the Lucida 3D Scanner and composite colour photography: Meditations of St John the Baptist by Bosch; Adolescent Saviour by Boltraffio; St Rose of Lima by Murillo; Triptych of the Nativity, a panel by the Master of Avila; St Francis of Assisi in Ecstasy by El Greco; The Age or Summer by Goya; Doña Inés de Zúñiga by Carreño de Miranda; The Infant Jesus, Triumphant over Death and Sin with St John by Lucas Cranach; and Eleonora de Medici by Sofonisba Anguissola.
In the last week of June, Factum also digitised, using the Selene Photometric Stereo System, the manuscript Libro de descripción de verdaderos retratos, de illustres y memorables varones, by Pacheco, housed in the Lázaro Galdiano Library. A facsimile of the manuscript will soon begin production.
